Create Content

Overview

The Content module in KUHub allows you to share news, announcements, and updates with the university community. Content items appear on the Campus Agenda and can be featured in the KU Daily Digest.

Permissions

Users with a KU NetID and appropriate permissions can create content. Depending on your role, your content may be published directly or require approval.

Content Guidelines and Requirements

Before creating content, please ensure you follow these guidelines:

Formatting Standards

  • Title formatting: Use Title Case for all titles (capitalize the first letter of each major word)

    • Correct: "New Scholarship Opportunities for Graduate Students."

    • Incorrect: "new scholarship opportunities for graduate students"

    • Incorrect: "NEW SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS"

  • Corporate identity: Use fonts and styling consistent with Koç University's corporate identity guidelines

  • Complete all fields: Do not leave description fields blank - provide meaningful content in all required and optional description areas

Legal Compliance

KVKK (Personal Data Protection): If you are including a form link that collects personal data:

  • Ensure the form complies with KVKK regulations

  • Include appropriate consent statements

  • Inform participants about data collection and usage

  • Reference the university's privacy policy: https://it.ku.edu.tr/bilgi-guvenligi/kvkk/

Content Quality

  • Be clear and concise: Write in a professional yet accessible tone

  • Proofread carefully: Check for spelling and grammar errors in both languages

  • Use descriptive text: Provide enough detail for readers to understand the content

  • Avoid jargon: Use clear language that all audience members can understand

  • Include calls to action: Clearly state what you want readers to do (register, attend, apply, etc.)

Visual Elements

  • Use high-quality images: Ensure images are clear, relevant, and properly sized

  • Follow image guidelines: Adhere to specified dimensions and file size limits

  • Maintain brand consistency: Use official Koç University imagery when appropriate

How to Create Content

Go to [https://campus.hub.ku.edu.tr]

Click on the "Sign in with KU NetID" button

Navigate to Campus Agenda > Content Management > Create Content from the left menu

Fill in the required fields:

Required Fields

  • Cover Image: Upload an image (maximum 1MB). Recommended size: 1920x1080 pixels. Accepted formats: .png, .jpg, .jpeg

  • Title: Enter a content title using Title Case (maximum 100 characters)

  • Short Description: Provide a complete, meaningful summary (maximum 1000 characters) - do not leave blank

  • Category: Select at least one category from the dropdown menu

  • Visibility: Choose the visibility type (required field)

Optional Fields

  • Tags: Add relevant tags to help users find your content

  • URL: Add a link to direct users to additional information

  • Content Body: Add detailed information using the text editor - do not leave blank even though it's optional

  • Attachments: Upload additional files (up to 8MB per file)

Publishing Options

  • Publish on Website: Check this option if you want the content to appear on the KU website

  • Sorting Date: Set the date for content ordering

  • Publish on Digest: Check this option to include your content in KU Daily Digest
    ** If selected, choose your target audience (Faculty, Staff, Students, or All)
    ** Select the publish date for the Digest

If you are including a form link that collects personal data:

Important: All content must be entered in both English and Turkish. Switch between languages using the EN/TR toggle in the top right corner.

  1. After completing all required fields in both languages, click "Submit Your Content"

Managing Your Content

Navigate to Content Management > Submitted Contents from the left menu

View all your submitted content with its current status

Use the Actions menu to:

** View: See content details
** Edit: Update your content
** Publish/Unpublish: Change publication status (if you have permission)

Content Statuses

Status

Description

Published

Content is live and visible to users

Unpublished

Content is saved but not yet visible

Pending

Content is awaiting approval (if required)

Rejected

Content was not approved (view rejection reason in details)

Best Practices

  • Use Title Case for titles - Capitalize the first letter of each major word

  • Follow corporate identity guidelines - Use approved fonts and styling

  • Never leave description fields blank - Provide meaningful, complete content

  • Ensure KVKK compliance - Include proper consent and privacy notices for data collection

  • Complete both languages - Ensure all content is available in both English and Turkish

  • Proofread carefully - Check for errors in spelling, grammar, and formatting

  • Test all links - Verify that any URLs included are working correctly

  • Use high-quality images - Ensure visuals are clear, relevant, and properly sized

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Using lowercase for all words: "new scholarship opportunities for graduate students"

  • Using ALL UPPERCASE: "NEW SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS"

  • Leaving description fields empty or with placeholder text

  • Including data collection forms without KVKK compliance statements

  • Using non-standard fonts or formatting

  • Submitting content too close to the desired publication date

  • Providing incomplete translations

  • Including broken or incorrect links

  • Using low-quality or improperly sized images
