Academic Use (Faculty Members and Researchers)
AI tools can serve as supportive resources for:
-
Creating course materials, simplifying content, and drafting sample questions,
-
Summarizing literature, proposing methodologies, and developing research hypotheses.
Note: The final content, accuracy, and academic integrity of any AI-assisted work are the sole responsibility of the user.
Scientific Research
When using AI in research activities, the following points must be observed:
-
The version and role of the AI tool used must be documented.
-
If AI support is included, this must be clearly stated in ethics committee submissions under the methodology section.
-
If the data contains personal information, it must be anonymized before being processed by AI tools.
For Students
In academic contexts, students should take the following into account:
-
AI tools must only be used to support the learning process. They must not be used to fully generate assignments, projects, or theses.
-
Content created with AI must be properly cited; otherwise, it will be considered plagiarism.
-
Use of such tools must follow the permissions and guidance of course instructors.
For Administrative Staff
In administrative workflows, AI tools may assist with:
-
Drafting email templates, project plans, and presentation outlines,
-
Summarizing complex regulations or procedures into clearer language.
However:
-
All AI-generated content must be reviewed carefully before being used on behalf of the institution.
-
Institutional data, personal information, or internal communications must not be entered into AI systems that are not approved by Koç University.
